Manuscript Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript before its formal publication. All withdrawal requests must be submitted to the JET Editorial Office and approved by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor. A manuscript is considered withdrawn only after the authors receive written confirmation from the Editorial Office.
1. Request Procedure (Pre-Publication)
Authors may request manuscript withdrawal at any stage before formal publication, including during peer review, revision, acceptance, copyediting, typesetting, or production.
The corresponding author must complete the JET Article Withdrawal Form and submit it to the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Office. The request must include:
- The manuscript title and OJS submission ID;
- The reason for withdrawal; and
- Written confirmation that all co-authors agree to the withdrawal.
2. Review and Confirmation
The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor will review the request and may contact the corresponding author or co-authors for clarification or confirmation. The manuscript will remain under active consideration until the withdrawal has been formally approved and written confirmation has been issued by the Editorial Office.
If the manuscript is subject to an ongoing investigation concerning publication ethics or research integrity, the withdrawal request may be suspended until the investigation has been appropriately addressed.
3. Post-Acceptance Withdrawal Penalty
A withdrawal penalty applies when authors request manuscript withdrawal after formal acceptance but before formal publication, as follows:
- Domestic Authors: IDR 1,500,000
- International Authors: USD 100
The penalty covers administrative and processing costs associated with manuscript preparation and other production-related activities, where applicable. The corresponding author must acknowledge the applicable penalty in the JET Article Withdrawal Form.
Payment instructions will be provided by the Editorial Office through official channels. The withdrawal penalty is separate from any applicable article processing charge (APC).
The penalty does not apply when the journal initiates the cancellation of publication. Any other exceptions will be handled in accordance with JET's applicable publication fee policy.
4. Simultaneous Submissions
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under consideration by JET. Submitting a manuscript elsewhere without first obtaining formal withdrawal confirmation from JET may constitute a breach of publication ethics. A withdrawal request does not automatically terminate an ongoing investigation into potential ethical violations.
