Corrections, Retractions, and Article Removal Policy

Jurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi (JET) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. When issues arise in published articles, JET will take appropriate action in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), where applicable. Actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or article removal in exceptional circumstances.

1. Policy Categories

JET may take one of the following actions depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern, the available evidence, and the implications for the reliability of the published scholarly record.

Action When Applied Implementation
Correction Errors in text, figures, tables, author details, affiliations, or other published information that do not undermine the overall reliability of the article. A separate correction notice will be published and linked to the original article. Minor typographical errors that do not affect meaning may be corrected without a separate notice.
Expression of Concern Serious, credible concerns exist about an article, but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation is ongoing or significantly delayed. A clearly labelled notice will be published and linked to the original article. Further editorial action will be taken when sufficient evidence becomes available.
Retraction The findings are unreliable because of a major error or serious concerns such as data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism, redundant publication, or serious research or publication ethics violations. A freely accessible retraction notice will explain the reasons and link to the original article. The article will normally remain accessible, clearly marked as RETRACTED, with a prominent notice or watermark where technically feasible.
Article Removal Exceptional circumstances require removal of the article's full text, such as a binding legal order, serious privacy or confidentiality violations, or a demonstrable risk to safety. The full text may be removed when necessary. Where legally permissible, the bibliographic metadata will be retained and a notice explaining the removal will be displayed.

2. Editorial Assessment and Decision

Concerns may be reported by authors, readers, institutions, or other interested parties to the JET Editorial Office. Reports should include the article details, a description of the concern, and supporting evidence where available.

The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor will assess the case, may request explanations from the authors, and may consult relevant institutions or experts. Authors will normally be given a reasonable opportunity to respond before a final decision is made. If the Editor-in-Chief has a conflict of interest, the matter will be handled by an independent editor or other appropriate authority.

JET will determine the appropriate action based on the available evidence and the need to protect the integrity of the scholarly record. Retraction and article removal will not be used solely because an author requests withdrawal after publication or disagrees with the article's conclusions.

3. Publication of Notices and Record Maintenance

Correction notices, expressions of concern, and retraction notices will be clearly labelled, freely accessible, and linked to the original article wherever technically feasible. JET will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the article's status is accurately reflected on the journal website and in the metadata supplied to indexing and abstracting services.

Article removal will be reserved for exceptional cases. Where the full text must be removed, JET will retain a notice and the available bibliographic information where legally permissible.
