Copyright and Licensing Policy

Jurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi (JET) is a fully open-access journal. This means all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. In accordance with the BOAI definition of open access, users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

1. Open Access Licensing (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)

All articles published in JET are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) licence.

Under this license, users are permitted to:
  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material.
These permissions are granted under the following conditions:
  • Attribution: Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
  • Non-Commercial: Users may not use the material for commercial purposes (including commercial republication or monetization).
  • ShareAlike: If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

2. Copyright Ownership

Authors who publish in Jurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi (JET) agree to transfer copyright in their accepted articles to the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN) in accordance with the journal's copyright transfer agreement.

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, the corresponding author must sign and upload the official Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) on behalf of all co-authors. This transfer allows BRIN to legally protect the published work against copyright infringements, unauthorized commercial distribution, and plagiarism. Changes to authorship or author order after submission of the signed agreement are subject to the journal's applicable authorship and editorial policies.

3. Retained Author Rights

Despite the transfer of copyright to BRIN, authors retain substantial non-exclusive proprietary and academic rights to their work. Authors do not need to request permission from JET or BRIN to:

  • Retain all patent, trademark, or other proprietary rights to processes described in the article.
  • Use the final published Version of Record (the journal-formatted PDF) or any earlier version for classroom teaching, lecture notes, student dissertations, or subsequent print compilations authored by the creators.
  • Share and distribute the final published Version of Record across personal homepages, non-commercial institutional repositories, and public academic networks (e.g., ResearchGate, arXiv) immediately upon publication, provided a permanent DOI link to the original JET publication is included.

Preprint and Self-Archiving Policy

1. Preprints (Prior to Peer Review)

Authors may submit manuscripts that have previously been posted as drafts on non-commercial preprint servers, such as arXiv. Posting a manuscript as a preprint is not considered prior publication and does not, by itself, disqualify the manuscript from consideration by JET. Authors are required to disclose any preprint posting at the time of submission.

2. Accepted Manuscripts (Post-Peer Review)

Authors may deposit and share the accepted manuscript, meaning the version incorporating the changes accepted after peer review but not yet formatted by the publisher, in institutional repositories without an embargo period.

3. Version of Record (Published PDF)

Authors may freely distribute the final publisher-formatted PDF (Version of Record) through personal websites, institutional repositories, and other non-commercial networks, without an

Third-Party Material & Content Warranties

Authors must ensure that their submissions are fully original. If an article contains third-party material (such as images, text extracts, or charts), authors are strictly responsible for obtaining written copyright permissions from the original rights holders before submission.
By signing the CTA, authors warrant that the paper contains no plagiarized material or unlawful statements. The authors—not JET or BRIN—bear full legal and financial responsibility for any copyright infringement claims arising from third-party content used within their paper.
