Data Availability and Sharing Policy

Jurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi (JET) supports open-science initiatives, research transparency, and the reproducibility of scientific findings. While the journal does not mandate public data deposits or formal Data Availability Statements as a requirement for publication, authors are highly encouraged to follow open-science best practices where feasible.

1. Encouraged Data Sharing Practices

To enhance the visibility, impact, and verification of their work, authors are invited to share the underlying research data supporting their manuscripts. This can include:

  • Experimental datasets or processed simulation results.
  • Software code, scripts, or algorithm implementations.
  • Hardware design files, engineering models, and detailed schematics.

2. Optional Data Disclosure

Authors who wish to make their research data accessible may do so using any of the following voluntary methods:

2.1. Repository Deposit

Authors may deposit datasets or code in recognized, permanent public repositories that assign a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

2.2. Data Availability Statements

Authors may voluntarily include a brief Data Availability Statement section at the end of their manuscript, just before the references, to inform readers how the data can be accessed. For example:

The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.

2.3. In-Text Links

Authors may include direct links to datasets or code platforms in the methodology or acknowledgement sections of their papers.

3. Proprietary and Confidentiality Considerations

JET recognizes that engineering and technology research often involves proprietary corporate data, active patent applications, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), or institutional restrictions. Authors are under no obligation to share data that would compromise intellectual property, commercial confidentiality, or legal agreements.

Choosing not to share research data or code will not negatively affect the editorial evaluation or peer-review process of the manuscript.
